Belle Voci Girls' Choir

The Belle Voci Girls' Choir is an auditioned choir comprised of girls in Grades 4-6 who attend mostly Dartmouth area schools. The choir rehearses Tuesdays at the Dartmouth Music Centre, 35 Major Street. The choir teaches concepts about music (melody, rhythm, dynamics, form) and musical skills through the rehearsals. The children are taught to use their voices through exercises, posture, breath and tone production.
The choral program provides an opportunity for members to sing a diverse selection of choral repertoire from classical to contemporary. The Belle Voci Girls' Choir is a member of the Nova Scotia Choral Federation.
The choir is under the direction of Melissa Hartery, a well-respected music teacher with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education . The accompanist is Cynthia Davies.
Membership Prerequisites:

- Good singing skills
- Strong interest and commitment
- No previous training is required, however, choral or instrumental training is preferred
- Attend school within Halifax Regional Centre for Education
- Entering grades 4-6
- Successful completion of an audition
